quest for best 'green' smoothie....

Today's recipe...

Instead of making it all green, I used mostly fruits an added spinach!

Strawberries
Blueberries
Kiwi
Spinach
Almonds, flax seeds
Orange juice n ice

A little better...

I just finished TM and was feeling great and ready to take on theworld w the greatest attitude...

Until I saw my step sister posting about all the ministering she is doing.

She hasn't reached out to her Father, who is suffering from debilitating Alzheimer's disease, since the 80s.

And it just put me in a terrible place.

I wanted to call her out on FB....started to...then I stopped.

Not a NY resolution at all

but I took up writing in my journal again yesterday.  it's helping bring up a lot of things that I've been protecting inside.

I may be on to something, because (at least I'm thinking so) it's helping me get myself back on track, little by little, by making me cognizant of what I'm doing wrong.

before, I would have trouble letting go of toxic relationships, now I'm having trouble divorcing bad habits.

time for real change, and I'm hoping journaling will help me be more aggressive and purposeful in getting shit done.

today's inspiration...

"Surrender completely by identifying ourselves with the lowest of the low, acknowledging our raw and rugged quality. There is nothing that we fear to lose once we identify ourselves with the lowest of the low. By doing so, we prepare ourselves to be an empty vessel, ready to receive the teachings."

late post

an old post from Oct 27...

Finally, Gerald's guitar is delivered.  He's inside playing now and I am outside on the stoop singing on Saturday afternoon in 1963.

We rented this beautiful two bedroom home at 2360 Marais St. a little cottage looking thing that's like a side-by-side duplex.

Yeah, Gerald's guitar did not make the flight apparently, so we had been waiting for it since our arrival yesterday.  Finally it was delivered around 4 o'clock. And now we are free to roam the streets of New Orleans.

the NOLA trip was 4 days of bliss like no other, forgetting about life, work and home.  got some much needed rest, relaxation and recovery from the shenanigans that was my birthday celebration.  which came after an epic visit from my closest high school girlfriends (Billie, Phyllis and Athena) and my sister, Ayreen.

from what i can remember, it went something like:
-misfit visit
-cut middle finger
-fender bender
-birthday party
-broken tooth
(overall, a pretty blurry experience...i might have even overdone the spirits (thanks to Zeppy's special M&M blend))

then, what seemed like never-ending Halloween parties...

anyway...late but here are just a few of pix from October-November that pretty much sums up  the 2 -week Birthday/NOLA/Halloween extravaganza...
